Past Events and Announcements Host and Exchange Student The Lincoln Public Schools just opened their 24 exchange student spots for next year. I am looking for both short and long-term hosts.

April 13th Saturday - ECCO Neighborhood Spring Cleanup. ECCO clean up is from 8am-noon. Details in the March ECCO newsletter and in email blasts. And the UNL Big Event is the same day. Thursday April 4th, 6:30-7:30pm ---- Creating a Water-wise Landscape At Warren United Methodist Church, 1205 N 45th St. Presented by Sarah Browning, Extension Educator- Horticulture, University of Nebraska - Lincoln Extension In Lancaster County Beautiful, healthy landscapes are possible, even during Nebraska's drought years, but creating a water-wise landscape does require some planning, and the use of good cultural practices. Learn about how to make the best use of drought tolerant plants in your landscape, and still incorporate some higher water use plants, too. We'll also discuss how to maintain your lawn and landscape so that plants remain healthy, even during drought, while you save money on your water bill. FOR MORE INFO ON OTHER GARDEN EVENTS. March 23rd -- Friends of Wilderness Park are sponsoring a program by Benjamin Vogt, native plant enthusiast, on growing native plants in your own yard. --- The program is free and open to the public. *** Native Plant Workshop and Sale***Saturday March 23rd, 10am Finke Gardens and Nursery, 500 N 66th St. --- And, gun amnesty on this day. March 14th - ECCO Board meeting at 7pm in the library of the Newman Parish Warren United Methodist Church. The public is invited. Agenda will be here when available. Clinton Neighborhood Organization sponsored a "Meet the Candidates" event beginning at 7 p.m. Monday, March 4, at Clinton School, 1520 N. 29th St. All candidates for the three at-large seats on the Lincoln City Council were invited to speak. They were: Leirion Gaylor Baird, Gene Carroll, Roy Christensen, Trent Fellers and Mark Whitehead. Any others who publicly announce their candidacy before March 4 were there as well.
