ECCO Garden Tour! 
Saturday June 1st
9am to 1pm      $5 entrance fee
ECCO is hosting a tour of some of the incredible gardens here in the East Campus neighborhood in order to raise money to “re-tree” our neighborhood.  Our goal is to restore the canopy of trees that has graced this beautiful established neighborhood in the past. We plan to replace the Elm trees that were lost to disease, to get ahead of the Ash trees that will no doubt eventually be lost to the Emerald Ash Borer over the next few years.  We need to raise $2,700 to match the grant for the same amount provided to ECCO from Trees for Nebraska Towns.  Trees will be planted this fall.
You can help us reach this goal by touring gardens on a one-mile walking tour of ECCO for the nominal fee of $5.

In addition, Yogurtini located at 233 North 48th Street, will be donating 15% of their profits the afternoon of the tour between 11AM and 3PM.  All you have to do is mention you’re there to help support ECCO – and enjoy fabulous frozen yogurt! 

Donations to the re-treeing effort are also welcome!

Presented by Sarah Browning, Extension Educator- Horticulture, University of Nebraska - Lincoln Extension In Lancaster County

Beautiful, healthy landscapes are possible, even during Nebraska's drought years, but creating a water-wise landscape does require some planning, and the use of good cultural practices.  Learn about how to make the best use of drought tolerant plants in your landscape, and still incorporate some higher water use plants, too. We'll also discuss how to maintain your lawn and landscape so that plants remain healthy, even during drought, while you save money on your water bill.  FOR MORE INFO ON OTHER GARDEN EVENTS. March 14th - ECCO Board meeting at 7pm in the library of the Newman Parish Warren United Methodist Church. The public is invited. Agenda will be here when available.

March 4th-    "Meet the candidates" event was held.

Clinton Neighborhood Organization sponsored a "Meet the Candidates" event beginning at 7 p.m. Monday, March 4, at Clinton School, 1520 N. 29th St. All candidates for the three at-large seats on the Lincoln City Council were invited to speak. They were: Leirion Gaylor Baird, Gene Carroll, Roy Christensen, Trent Fellers and Mark Whitehead. Any others who publicly announce their candidacy before March 4 were there as well.
